TASK
1. References
For this assignment, I searched for references that matched the quotes and images I had in mind.
2. Sketches
Once I found my reference, I began sketching with my idea and the reference in mind. The quote I chose is, "If you prioritize yourself, you are going to save yourself," so my main focus was on the theme of prioritizing oneself.
3. Progress
For the picture process, refer to Digital Photography and Imaging - Week 9.
Poster Process:
After editing the photo in Photoshop, I moved on to Illustrator.
I added the word "prioritize" and made it repeat in a wavy pattern.
After that, I masked the person in my picture and placed them on top of the text so the person wouldn’t get buried, allowing me to keep the main focus on them.
Then, I added a border.
I also added decorative lines using the brush tool.
On top of that, I made the word "yourself" 3D, using a blue-to-white gradient, and then finalized my poster.
4. Final Work
The reflection is about how we forget to think for ourselves and prioritizing other people. The symbolism of reaching our own reflection in the lake means to remember about one self and what you can do to save and prioritize yourself. The dark surrounding is about the state of people's hearts when they keep putting others first before themself.
